Alan Jackson the owner of Wildcard Charter Boat at Whitby is offering a prize of £10,000 for any angler who can break the UK Cod Or Ling record from their boat.
Alan says
We understand that anglers by nature are competitive in their outlook. For this reason I have teamed up with William Hill PLC to offer a £10,000 prize to any angler, or group of anglers who break the UK cod or ling rod caught record on our boat. The competition is free to enter for all anglers and runs all season. The current records (in lbs and ozs) are:
Cod 58-06-00 Whitby. Yorkshire. N.Cook 1992
Ling 59-08-00 Bridlington. Yorkshire. J. Webster 1989
