WHITBY Town Council has told its Scarborough counterparts that rock armour is not an option to repair the crumbling piers.
It fears the use of rock armour will detract from the appearance of the piers and urged that other methods be looked at.Quote
Coun Ian Havelock said the piers should be returned to their former state.
He said: “The piers have withstood what the sea has to offer for the past 300 years and I think rock armour would be a mistake.
