Whitby Fishing Trips – All You Need To Know About Fishing Trips At Whitby

If you’ve arrived at this page then its likely you are thinking of taking a fishing trip from Whitby, but you’ve been met by a mass of information and are unsure of what to do next. This page is designed to help boat anglers decide which charter boat is going to best meet their needs.

Primarily you must ask yourself how long you want to be at Sea ? A majority of the Whitby Charter Skippers offer 10 or 12 hour fishing trips.

However for those not wanting to be away from dry for too long some of the boats do take 3 and 4 hour charters. The best source of information regarding trip lengths can be found on our Whitby charter boat page – or by asking a direct question in our boat fishing forum.

Another consideration when booking a Whitby Fishing Trip is obviously going to be skipper choice. Again a good source of information on the best charter skippers can be found by asking direct questions in the boat fishing forum, or alternatively you could read our site poll of the Best Whitby Charter Skippers.

On The Day Of Your Whitby Fishing Trip

Always check in with your skipper on the night before the trip. Check if the trip is still on and if you need to bring any special baits or lures that have been taking fish in the past few days.

On the day of your trip make sure you have packed everything you require, maybe a tick list could be helpful, especially if your memory is like mine – useless. Make sure you know where you are going and what time you need to set off to get to Whitby in good time.

Most anglers aim to be in Whitby for roughly 90 minutes before their trip departs. This will allow for a visit to Arbuts cafe for one of their legendary bacon sandwiches. Then you can also call into Whitby angling supplies to stock up on any bait or tackle you may require.
