The first 20 pound cod of the year was caught from Whitby on Paul Kilpatricks boat sea otter 2. The fish took a whole squid fished on a 7o Oshaugnessy hook. The 21 pound monster was part of a 20 fish haul including 2 other fish over the 10 pounds mark.

Sea Otter 2 skipper Paul Kilpatrick today reported to the fishing forum that he is to be sponsored by Lowrance electronics in 2009. Lowrance have offered to fit the high definition fish finder system and the broadband radar. Paul Says
