Today saw 33 kayak anglers compete in the first ever Filey Brigg Kayak Fishing Match. There were 3 double figure cod brought to the scales with the heviest being a fantastic specimen of 13 pounds exactly caught by Whitby’s Ben Quinn. Filey Brigg Angling Society have announced their intention to hold a kayak fishing match at Filey Brigg during July 2009. Two dates of 5th and 19th July have been set, and if weather stops play on the first date then the match will be moved to the second.
