SUNDAY SUN SEA ANGLING MAY 3RD
News Monday, May 4th, 2009SUNDAY SUN SEA ANGLING MAY 3RD
As you all know I attended a meeting in Birmingham on April 3rd, although I came away with many questions unanswered, angling bodies left knowing that an agreement had been struck, in that the national member of Natural England present would contact my colleague Sam Harris, chairman of the Angling Trust North East and arrange a date for the end of April early May. This information was passed onto anglers who had travelled up to 160 mile to attend the NFSAS’s AGM, and they where quite happy knowing soon they might get their questions answered. Unfortunately, the members of the Joint Nature Conservancy Council, and Natural England who agreed to this, have now reneged on the agreement and have refused point blank to attend meetings. And to try and get away with this, in the minutes of the meeting I now have, they have stated that this was just a suggestion. The members there kept talking about trust, building bridges and openness, how on earth can they expect anglers to trust anything they say. It looks as if I went all the way to Birmingham for a cup of cold tea, and a sandwich (with no crusts) Thankfully, I have now been informed by the local Natural England office there will be two meetings coming off hopefully in June.
