What can I say, I think everyone was totally blown away by the response and support this event received. The turnout was absolutely fantastic and those who made the long journey were rewarded with a taste of some fantastic Scottish weather. The fishing was patchy at times but after the dust has settled it seems there’s no shortage of success stories to be told.
It all kicked off for most of us on Thursday afternoon in the camping field on the Sand’s of Luce caravan park. The site was filling up rapidly, some of the lads had made an early start and were already out on the water. By early evening the bulk had arrived and the tagging kits and welcome packs were distributed out to those taking part.
The orginanisers of the event were fortunate enough to have the support of the Coast Guard and the Port Patrick RNLI, so a visit from the local sea safety officer was welcomed by all. Some safety advice was given out and a bit of valuable knowledge was exchanged .
