Whitby Fishing Festival Day 6 Results
Day six saw most of the Whitby charter boats at sea. Many fished at distance but once again it was John Whitton who showed you never need to go far to find a decent fish. John fished the Hawsker highlight ground at about 2.5 mile from port and this tactic paid dividends with all anglers getting a good supply of cod. But it was not just quantity for Johns anglers as Local lad Tony Bullivent caught an excellent fish of over 10 pounds which gave him first place on the day.

Day 7 belonged solely to anglers on Malc Pitmans boat sea spray. With most of the WCSA boast at sea the competition was stiff but one again did better than the rest. Rex Johnson from worksop landed 2 cod of just over 8 pounds which gave him first and 3rd place on the day. Whitby angling festival regular Simon West (Past winner of the uptiding festival) also had a nice cod of over 8 lbs which gave him second place on the day.
