Razor Claw Hooks – The Sharpest Fishing Hook In Today’s Market
Razor claw hooks are probably the sharpest fishing hook in today’s sea fishing market. There are several types of razer claw hooks on the market including the razer claw worm hook, eel hook, circle hook, and the Big bend hook. These hooks are very similar to those made by Variva’s and Sakuma.
Razor Claw Big Bend Hook
After years of experimenting with various hooks from Kamasan and Mustad I now find only one hook acceptable for cod fishing. That hook is the the Razor claw big bend. It is ultra sharp and extremely strong, with a larger gape than that found on most sea fishing hooks making it ideal for mounting larger cocktails baits of crab, mussel, lug worm etc. I usually opt for the 5o size which allows you to get plenty of bait on the hook which is essential when targeting those bigger cod which swim off our coastline. The razer claw big bend also makes an excellent uptiding hook and is favoured by many of the Whitby charter skippers for use when winter uptiding for cod.
- Chemically sharpened hooks – Ultra Sharp
- Forged Black Nikel Finish
- Big mouth for big fish
- wide gape meaning they are ideal for both crab and worm baits.

Yes I must agree with this review. Razor claw hooks are the sharpest fishing hook I have ever seen. Just touch them and your finger will bleed. I use them all the time for winter cod fishing and I would not go back to any other hook now. They will take big baits and the sharpness of the hook point and barb ensure that any fish that even looks at your bait soon finds itself hooked.
All in all they are the best hooks you can find.
Yes a superb, great value hook. Extremely sharp with a large gape which is excellent for mounting bulky baits like peeler crab. A very similar hook to Varivas and Sakumas but at a fraction of the cost.
