Kayak Fishing – Dub Mill Point, Allonby

Dub Mill Point, Allonby

Plaice, Flounder, Bass…..infact almost anything can turn up here. The tides can run a bit strong on springs for kayaking but with a bit of knowledge it can be done.

The shingle bank at the top of the beach fishes well for codlings and Whiting  from the shore on a blow during winter.

A kayak trip around Easter will provide you with good sport with Plaice on light tackle. Ravenous fish returning from spawning are an easy target but tend to be a bit on the lean side for keeping. October will produce less fish but the chance of a decent one for the pot is much greater.

Don’t arrive with your kayak at low water unless your prepared to trail it around 1km to the low water mark.
