Kayak Fishing At Hartlepool – Twin Steps

Follow the signs for the headland ,and look for marine drive ,it has a concrete ramp for access, and you can launch on most tides from high water or low.

Parking is on the roadside right next to the public slipway, the friaridge tackle shop is close by. You can see where the scars are by the sea movement. I would recommend fishing about half a mile off shore, where there is plenty of kelpy and broken ground, and also sand.

Expect to catch plaice flounder ,cod ,pollack coalie and bass, to lures and bait. The life boat station is about five mins away. I hope this is of use to you all , I have fished the area myself from boat and shore but not recently, mainly in the seventies and eighties.

If you have any more information on this venue or would like to post any catch reports from here, then please use the comment form below. Catch reports are also welcome in our kayak fishing forum.

Hi Alex are you from Hartlepool, I have been considering purchasing a kayak for a while now but don’t know anyone from Hartlepool who goes out kayak fishing and I don’t want to go out on my own for safety reasons of course. Is there any clubs in the Hartlepool area that I could join. Thanks Marty 07766233317
