Hartlepool angler John Wilson has caught one of the biggest cod to be landed by a UK shore angler for many Years. John was fishing his Hartlepool pirates angling club match when he hooked into a fish of a lifetime from the River Tyne.
The fish was caught on Friday evening in one of the clubs weekly matches and tipped the scales at a fantastic twenty seven and a half pounds.
