A pretty good rucksack for the roving rock hopper. You will struggle to find anything better. This does not mean that this bag is excellent quality. It just means its probably the best in the current market place. The bag has many plus points but there is also room for improvement.

The 35 litre is of ample size for me to carry 3 reels, roughly 20 leads, clothing, a fish bag, and 2 bait flasks. I budget for one of these bags each year, and a year is about all they will last anyone who fishes 2-3 times a week when the weather is right. The first thing to give out is often the zips. In the past 3 seasons at least one of the zips has become broken within the first 6 months of use. This year the zip in the top of the bag has gone first meaning I must now carry spare reels within the bag itself. This is not ideal. Ive also had the straps fall off bags due to the stitching coming loose and have heard stories of the bottom of the bag falling out completely for 1 unlucky angler.

When all said and done this is not the ideal solution for the roving rock angler to carry his gear. But with limited availability of sea angling rucksacks I think it will be the only real option until something better comes onto the market. At £25 a bag you cant really complain too much.

I budget for 1 rucksack a year and currently my bag of choice is the Imax. It has large capacity and lots of pockets for weights and spare reels etc. You can easily fit into the bag everything that you carry when you go fishing including coast, rig wallet, spare reels and of course, most importantly – your fish.
