Well done John and Harry .

It was a canny day aboard Mistress today, fish coming aboard at regular intervals.

I finished with 9 fish to 8lb+,total bag weight in excess of 40lb. There was also a few other fish around the 7lb mark.

Successful baits included squid, fresh lug, frozen blacks, razor, cart and mussel (think that covers em all! ).

Great day with a good bunch of lads and hard working crew.

P.S Harry had a good day he only forgot his sandwiches, mobile and tablets

19LB LING IN THE UPTIDING FESTIVAL ON SEA-OTTER 2

Today the lads from boat fishing montly were onboard i said to the lads today we are going to try a few big fish spots not allways loads of fish but usually the quality ones we got the quality ones today but not quite the right species.
First of all it was glen (baramundi bob) who got a double figure fish his rod was bending nicely all eyes on glen for a big cod but when it surfaced it turned out to be a ling going on 13lb a very nice ling for uptiding but that wasnt the end on the ling front.

    Glens rod is bending nicely.

Dave goes with the net as it comes to the surface.

    A lovelly ling for glen.

Woody with a nice plump cod.

Stevey hoyle from scarborough allways gets the nice ones.

Dave barham from boat fishing monthly gets some nice cod.

But it was jim midley also from BFM hits the jackpot with this 19lb ling by far the best ling i have had onboard sea-otter 2 uptiding well done jim a fantastic fish.

I thought yours was a good cod glen and when jim hooked that fish i thought yes this must be a cod couldnt belive it when another ling popped the surface a belter of ling in 60ft of water but then again we had a 20lb conger last week in 60ft of water you never know.

Well done Harry and John- looks like you had a great day.
Good to see Shadrap's back is (hopefully) on the mend and Glenn getting amongst the ling that he loves so much

This certainly looks like the year when uptiding off Whitby will make a few fair weather fishermen sit up and take notice.

Yesterday and earlier today we tried around Kettleness point. The going was very slow but when Rich dropped the boat back nearer sandsend the fishing picked up no end.

I had my biggest on the very first drop on the day on the south hard at Sandsend.

On Never Can Tell 'A' today with Dave Perret and 3 anglers from Carlisle.
A slow start to the day, just a couple of small codling, pouting and whiteing.
Once the flood tide started to pick up some nice plump cod started to show.
We fished in the same area as Glen on Sea Otter 2. Sandsend to Runswick Bay.
I ended up with 8 Cod for 36 lb and one Ling 9 1/2 lb
Dave had 9 Cod for 32 lb (fish wieght was done onboard so only approx.)
