Heres my pb pollock, 22lb exactly, it stripped line about half a dozen times before i could make any headway with it, and still stripped line once id got it moving a further 4 or 5 times, also got one 16lb on the same day

no, when i lived on the south coast i used to have a trip pollocking every year, that was caught out of exmouth, we were actually off alderney, i caught ten that day nothing below 8lb, the fishing was brilliant.
In 1982 I was on sea trek with Stu Johnson. I had a cod of 42lb 4oz and my dad had one of 42lb. The story made the angling times. It was on the 1st April.
I remember it well. I have a photo at home of me and the owd fella holding them for the photo. I will see if I can scan it and post it.
The days of the lunkers jethro to get them in the 40ss was excellent 30ss were quite regular we did jiggin runs in the 80ss never weighed them they just got put in boxes all the same a 40lb fish was cracker.
Just a young whipper snapper there rich nice fish though mate.

Glen we had the year books with all the records in i might have one somewhere its quite a few years ago since i last got them printed but i think the wife threw them out after we had a good clear out see if i can put my hand on one dont think it will be problem we have a meeting tonight to srt prize money for this years coming festivals also bud need that picture .
would bernard vasey or dave perrot have any ideas of the records?
