I would agree fully, On a personal level my conclusion is 5.9m tide, Northerly swell, Heavy Rain at the start of the week, Algea bloom. what are people expecting ? Its just a shame the skippers cant be more upbeat. Next week we have more settled weather and a run of smaller tides. Lets see what happens then. I think a few people will be eating their words.

stickman There's a difference between fishing and catching!

I've been fishing for 47 years and generally catch rock all - it's not stopped me going fishing though

Early days after shocking weather for the time of year. There will be more than one 20lb fish caught before the festival ends.

Personally I dont care what the fishing is like as such. As long as I can get away from it all for 10 hours and perhaps catch a few fish, I am happy. I do feel for the skippers though because they need the hype and excitement factor to keep anglers interested, and when the fishing isn't as good as it should be then they must feel a little ashamed . (the finger of blame points in their direction!!!) even though its way beyond their control.
Lets enjoy what weve got and go and enjoy ourselves (its what its all about after all!)

Honestly its this new chuffing phone these pictures were took aboard Trot on 2 with paul eddon although I have had a good day with paul kilpactrick on Sea Otter 2 aswell
times like this you have to put your trust into the men who do this as there profession and when you see a skipper gutted that there lads havent had the greatest of days ........ they are the men you want to be going with in my eyes anyway hopefully have a big fish myself by monday evening good luck to everyone who fishes and thanks should be given to the lads who take there own time to put these festivals together,

Big thank you to Paul for yesterday yes fishing was hard due to the big tides but made a little easier by the hard work Paul put in and the new boat, I know Paul has taken a lot of cristisim of late about how he should run his business but can I say that what he lacks in IT skills he makes up for it for his anglers on the day.

For all those critics out there don't knock it until you have tried it for me trot on 2 is the future for boat fishing
