    That is the question often asked on my boat in the Florida Keys, this one came aboard last week and is the 122 nd different species to do so it is in fact a scrawled file fish. The man that made these fish up certainly came up with some strange ones and who came up with the names !


    It is the shrimp tipped jig coming out of the mouth.

    Looks like a Scrawled Filefish.
    Saw a lot of these diving on the reefs of Cozumel they called them Scribbled Filefish, they usually browse on the reef, they have a nasty spiny fin if I remember right.
