Boat Fishing What Outboard For My Boat Please ???

    hi can anyone tell me what size outboard engine can I use on a 22ft boat please I bought the boat new project doing it up thank you

    It depends on the type of boat and strength of the transom. You need to know what type model of boat it is then info will be easier to find. Maybe post a pic of the boat.

    would guess least 30hp but agree depends on boat type and what you are going todo with it

    our boat is 17ft, pictured is 10hp 4-stroke long shaft.

    this gave us 7 knots according to gps.

    however weve uprated to a 15 hp tohatsu , more umpph for launching/getting in when

    weather changes.

    depends on type of boat etc.

    transom set up like ours you have to position right.

    This ones mine and I run with a 9.9hp two stroke, gets me along just fine

    "file too big" must have taken "tubs" features to excess;)

    Vince, the engine in picture is the old 10hp one, but did the job.

    check web etc for similar set ups for your boat as 22ft coble/

    Wilson flyer/ Alaskan etc etc will differ in what engine suits.
