I know people have their gripes with commercial fishermen, but for gods sake its what made towns like whitby the towns they are today,
with the quota/days at sea systems squeezing our fleets into liquidation we are soon to be either just another ghost town or a port for visiting continental trawlers who dont fall under the same crippling restrictions that brittish vessels do.
It really is a shame that families that have fished the sea off ports like whitby for generations will now cease to do what theyve done for years beyond count, just because we have a lame duck government that holds as much clout in the EU as a wad of wet newspaper
thats an insult to a wet newspaper but you a 100% right.
