Hi guys - am coming over for the Whitby uptide festival next weekend, fishing Friday and Saturday on 2 Dogs.

Looking for somewhere for a couple of hours beach fishing Friday night (or all day if weathered off !) which I think will be low water, where there is at least a reasonable chance of a codling. I am used to, and set up for, clean ground fishing.

Saw some decent reports on here about Whitby pier recently. Have also heard about Runswick Bay - anyone give me any further info/tips? pm me if it is top secret !!

    cheers lads

Low water shots recently mentioned on here include Upgang Beach, Robin Hoods Bay and Runswick.
If you look here- http://www.whitbyseaanglers.co.uk/north-east-fishing-marks.php there is a wealth of information and as for methods http://www.whitbyseaanglers.co.uk/cod-fishing.php should see you right.

A lot depends on the weather which as you'll know is looking a bit changable at the moment.

    Best of luck.

Yeah thanks - I had seen that, but as i dont know the marks, will be fishing in the dark and will not get chance to recce first, I was kinda hoping someone would point out a spot that would not incur too many risks. Think I will plump for the pier

You guys are spoilt for choice over there - over here on the Fylde coast one bit of sand is pretty much like the next

Weather looks absolutely shocking for saturday, and not much better for sunday. Keep your fingers crossed.
