Kettle on ready for flasks, tractor on beach ready,f/cast not too bad.

Hope to get a few drifts inside on top of tide, hope fog don't spoil it later.

Brolley optional, at worst boat will get a good wash.

    Will post outcome later on.

    Best result all round BRI,

Easy launch, fishing for 5ish, straight into good samples to 6lb,mops

A plenty problems with double shots on hokkis.

Shads took better fish, bait man attracting more mops.

Hit 1st mackerel of year all good jumbo size, 20 then they went.

Kept 24 cod, mackerel unreturned couple small ling..

By catch of gurnards for pot bait n a few mega Launce for later.

No Pollock, but water clear n plenty of bait fish showing.

Time for a shower as bonus being no rain/mist to spoil things.

    Marks fished 70ft water depth.

A few fish about, no wind or rain and calm seas a bonus. I thought it must be cr4p outside as a party boat was inside of us for most of the morning.

Can't have been much fun hauling mops up 30ft on 30lb gear.:D

Believe it or not some of those party boat anglers till use 50lb class roller rods to catch tids, cant see the point in that myself

I hope he didn't charge them wreck fishing prices, though it was the perfect day to hit the wrecks.

It looks like Lone Shark out of Hartlepool, used to be at Whitby and had a yellow wheelhouse back then

Aye,what a waste of conditions Zetland,he came inside near us as we

Stopped to tidy up & hit a scout shoal of mackerel, perhaps he saw the gulls

And as BRI said test out the rollertip billiard cues .

Unless they were stopping for mackerel for bait then going wrecking we were

Ashore mid morning so didn't see how long they stayed .

Foggy now but nice sea for a launch, then MSW crap next week.

Furthest out he went was just to the other side of the of the Buoy, he had a couple of drifts, then came back in. Don't think they were ripping for Mackerel.

Might have a couple of hours later, depending on mist and breeze.

    Re: not ripping for mackerel,

He was there again this morning, same place, mop murdering no doubt to "keep the customer satisfied"

Probably all the just oversized mops we returned .

Getting out later you should be OK now,vis OK up to 2 miles

Mist lifted enough, so we went off at 9am to be greeted with not 1 but 2 charter boats, not the one out yesterday, right in among the Dans. What next, Scallop dredgers?

Expected to get a few fish on the Ebb, but totally different from yesterday, not many about, so called it a day just after half 12.

    Zetland,

Fish showed pre-slack water again to day,met my mate who came back ashore

    Just after 10,

He kept 20 better fish 5-7lb,a few mackerel but not as many about.

Seems flood fishing better at moment.

Re: scallopers inside bouy think that years ago when my mate fished on trawlers from Whitby (remember them)

He mentioned that sometimes under licence they were allowed to fish there but maybe BRI may know

    Better

we are not all fortunate to own a boat so we have to pay for the angling but we are all fishermen
and certainly dont keep mops that are just sze
we all have one passion mine is 90 per cent shore but i do like a couple of trips off with the hope of finding somthing bigger

Youre off today I believe out of Hartlepool, hope it goes well and you get into a few

Good luck for today, but if you end up a mile and a half off Marske among the Dans, be aware it's already been intensively fished. As Bri says, let us know how you get on.
