Well we're on the cusp of another winter season on the North East coast.....the summer weather hasn't been kind to us but I'm already gathering the rig bits, making sure the bait freezer is stocked with the baits I'll need and also passing the time of an evening reading back over some of the older posts....some with a smile, some with a grimace looking back now ! :p

What ranks as your all time best thread on the forum ?

I m still reading through but this one caught my attention again :

Already put mine on the sticky. But dorado's "bass from the frozen north" is my all time favourite. Ruperts exploits with the porgies coming a close second ;)

Ive given that one a bit of a bump Dave. Its certainly food for thought, and with the death of the Jet miner recently its sort of relevant to discuss what we share and who is responsible if anything happens. I believe the Jet miners friend has been arrested on a charge of manslaughter.

Would it ever be the case that if an angler lost his life after being shown the mark by someone else, could that third party be prosecuted for showing a person a dangerous fishing mark ??

In terms of personal best topics, mine would revolve around the fishing. Most of Garry Watsons topics have been an inspiration to me over the past 5 or 6 years, and my outlook on life and fishing has changed significantly because of what ive seen Garry and friends do.

In fact I was only think about this very subject 10 minutes ago. How sharing knowledge. marks and fishing with friends beats the solitary experience of the hardened match anglers out there. Its something im thinking of writing about in depth.

Other topics of memory. Quints kayak fishing exploits before any of us had even thought of the idea. Killers west pier cod landed in the harbour, what skill that took.

The birth of bass fishing with plugs in this area, again largely inspired by quint, Garry Watson and of course not forgetting Dav.

There are some great topics covered there. The participation of everyone makes them so.
Dont know about anyone else, but when I mull over them some of the posts I wrote read like somebody else had wrote them.
Should have called myself smugrod ;D

l wonder if any of the posts will ever be refered to in the distant future? Just like we do now with a book or a diary.
