    Out again this morning

Cod were full of small herring, spratts too.

Came inside for mackerel, these also full this time with spratts, plenty of bait fish about.

Few days on these n softly, softly fillets.

Few herring took on daylights, first scads also for pots.

    And no party boats inside☺

We only had potters and a couple of yakkers for company his morning. The big tide meant we where drifting at close to 2 knots at one point, but we still found a few fish.:)
Came in when that small front showed up, only to find a sand bar between us and the launch point. Had to come ashore a couple of hundred yards further down the beach.

Bigger ones,no joe,s water clarity poor, blame heavy fresh water Mon night.

Same for a couple of boats trying well off n down south.

Was out yesterday morning, way to much chop on for us. So we gave it an hour for the tide to ebb and give us a bit of beach to land on. Caught a couple of codling, all returned. Might give it a try tomorrow.

    Re: small craft off end,

Some use a "mackerel gurney" to get them for potbait.

To beat the maddning crowd, JC you should give sandy point a go.

Next big tides, have a yomp towards coatham, trident marks area to fish.

Cast towards reef outlet, use cork set up on double hook trace .

2 hrs either side of low water you will have the place to yourself.

Odd bass also, the mackerel "herd "the bait fish into the basin.

Or walk along the reef over low water spinning into the deep channel

That you cast into from beach side.
