looking at the winners so far for shore matches id say there has been diversity in wining venues

You are indeed correct Chris 3 days 3 different winning venues but will it be a 4th tonight limited rover with 2 of the already winning venues in the boundaries and recon one of the 2 will produce the winner tonight.
Excellent prize table tonight I believe most of which collected by Paul Medd.
Are you wetting a line tonight Chris.

Another good day aboard Lucky Marion, Ask Trophy, Scarborough Festival

After taking a day off yesterday due to exhaustion, Marion and myself headed out for the Scarborough Festival boat match, we checked out the weigh in yesterday which was won with a 50+ bag of Ling and with a flat sea and slack water early in the match it was obvious that the only chance was to load up with squid and try to tempt a few,

start of the match was still flooding good so we tried Shads but once again there were no takers even with the water being pretty clear, we moved to larger wreck at slack water and got a start with a couple of blegg and a Ling about 5lb, but we were soon joined by another vessel who quickly pulled out a double , but rather than work around them we decided to nip back to our first choice and it paid off with 2 good ling for me and one for marion all around 8lb.

quite quickly though we had the tide ripping again and the bait fishing was just hard so we opted to go back to land rock and uptide for a few codling,

the tactic failed as despite a fish a chuck they were all undersize codling or Wrasse, a move gave the same result so with slack coming inshore we lifted the anchor and drifted with Pollock gear which succeeded beyond exspectations with a lovely Pollock that went 9lb 10 on my digital scale and 8lb 12 gutted at the weigh in.

That and a 2lb codling that fell to the same tactics left me with a 31lb bag, which I suspected would take a prize but I was delighted to find it won me the cup, there was a bit of controversy at the weigh in when a boat turned up late with a bag and heaviest fish above the winners and was not allowed to weigh in, felt a bit sorry for them but rules are rules ;)

I was rather surprised to win today, but analysing later I think a fast boat has a massive advantage in this kind of match, some of the guys stayed on the wrecks because a move inshore would have taken an hour out of there fishing time. because it was only 15 mins for us we were less concerned :)

By the way Marion finished 9th and won the ladies prize again ;D

Another well deserved win for the team. Thinking out what methods, were to go , (vast amounts of skill 8) ) as well as a bit of speed the sucsessful formula . Wonder if that pollocks the one you lost a few weeks ago Dave ?
We didnt fish the comp today opted for pleasure fishing. Many wrecks devoid of fish ??? . Found an old favourite in the end just outside the match boundries we nearly gave up on that one but as the tide eased and we switched to bait the fish came on. Mainly ling but a better stamp than of late an 8lb+ pollock on a ling set-up , couple of cod. Had over 4st of fillet in the end.
Killers right the water cannot be right yet again but the cod do appear scarce unless there up in the water certainly not enough of them for us to go today. Then the weathers breaking down :'(

Is it possible to have some captions under the photo's? Names and places?

It's a minor point, I know, but some of us are reading the site from our fog bound hill billy shacks in The Pennines and often have no idea who is who.

A win for Ramrod with around 12lb this afternoon showing that he has still got what it takes. Chris France had a fish 7lb and Simon Barker one 6lb. Jonny James 2nd with a mixed bag including a 5lb Pollock. Quint had a Bass just short of 5lb. Bags falling a little but still good considering smaller tides and a blashy sea.

I recognised Lobbers (not that I've ever met him in person).

With him sat there all bored looking and Codless I wondered about organising a Paypal whip round on the site. One of you locals could then head out to the shop and get him a fish or some fillets or something.
