    Nature at its wildest,
all that money gone down the drain ,literally.
feel sorry for the poor sod that left their car there ,wonder if the insurance will pay up ,act of god and all that ,doesnt take much for insurance firms not to pay out.
    so much for scorching september.

    frank.

Some one put a video of flooding in skinny grove as well looked well bad. I had an hour on Whitby west yesterday till security bloke dragged us off and closed the storm gates. Sea was well away . Piss wet through but loved it :)

    Moors road wasn't nice yesterday.
Flooding around Charltons and the dip just after Scaling Dam was quite deep too.
Drove back up the Grinkle road and there were abandoned vehicles looking like they might have been stuck an hour our two before.

I was there today and the damage was shocking BUT to a certain degree some of it was self inflicted ------ there is a lot of large tree trunks
very large branches , which smashed the chain footbridge and essentially caused dams where the other bridges , forcing a lot of the water to go
anywhere but the river , these huge pieces of debris have come from higher up river in saltburn woods , now if some of the workshy were put to work pulling up these trees etc up the bankside away from the river with the aid of Turfers and chain on regular inspections to a certain extent it
    would much lessen the problem

Unfortunate circumstances but top reporting & photos. With the sea defences breached lets hope there's a quick fix before winter comes :-(
