Rotten bottom clips - Mine Dont Work Whats The Answer ??

    Which ones r u lads using. I have the simple butchers hook type but at times it does not detach from the lead. Is it something I am doing wrong and is there a better way

    Hi Simon,

    I make my own to the design of those hooks. I found if you open the eye and put one on the lead as well as your rig body then they come apart almost 100%

    1.6mm anodised steel wire, bent to this shape using long nose pliers.

    Second picture shows linked up BUT I have been lazy in my demonstration - use with a pear shaped clip, NOT the looped mono shown in this picture. They slip much better out of a pear clip, being metal against metal.

    One roll of that wire, and an evening making in front of the box, and you can make enough to last a couple of seasons no bother.

    i make my own from 316 SS wire, if im not clipping down then the good old loop and pin gets used
