With the lovely weather and calm seas we decided on a spot of kayak fishing out of Boggle Hole at Robin Hoods Bay. Myself, Farron and Mike met up at 3pm and paddled out towards long hole at Bayness end.

Initially we tried a spot of jigging with 4oz jigs. Within half an hour we had landed some good pollack, I managed some to 5lb whilst Farron had a couple slightly bigger at 6-7lb.

It soon became clear that there was not many cod about so we switched to the trusted Yo Zuri Crystal Minnow and had a paddle around Hommeril Hole area whilst trolling the lures.

Although the action was not thick and fast we all managed more pollack, and once again the majority of the takes seemed to come the moment you stop paddling and the lures float up to the surface.

All in all another nice night on the kayaks. Im now convinced that we have some amazing pollack fishing all the way from Whitby to Robin Hoods Bay and beyond. Much of it well within reach of the shore for those willing to give it a go.

The night was finished off round Farrons house where we ate the biggest pollack of the night. Pan fried in butter with sea salt and black pepper. Pollack really do make for awesome eating when they are fresh.
