Further Reading : More on Arbroath here. More on Scotland here. Hi Fellow fishy folks.. Just returned from a truly fantastic trip up North in to that beautiful country they called SCOTLAND, lets hope next time I visit, I do not need to show my passport, but lets not get into politic's on this post, just lay back relax and enjoy the fishing... I always get such a warm feel good feeling that surrounds me when I head North to do a bit of fishing, maybe I have got some Scottish blood running through my veins, but funny how my car always wants to head North rather than South, So north it was on our annual pilgrimage to Cod-Ville aka Arbroath. Once again we were not disappointed, the whole place never fails to deliver. We met up with good pals, Jimmy, and Ron and Tricky Ricky who had travelled down from Orkney, great to see you all again!! Always guaranteed some top quality banter and leg pulling when these guy's are around.. That's what fishing is all about spending time with good friends and sharing memorable moments and well if you get a few fish well that's an added bonus.. Well what can I say... Phew what a scorcher! and they say it always rains in Scotland.. Well if that's true then I guess we have been extremely lucky on our visits over the years... When I return home people think I have been on some exotic holiday, but only I know the truth,,," I have been somewhere much better". :glee: There seemed to be lots of Codling's this year and my first session seen me catch 15 Cod, which more or less set the tone for the week, most sessions seen 6-14 fish per person and most fish between 2-4lb with the odd better fish making an appearance.. Best fish on the week fell to our good pal Jim who pulled out a doulbe shot with a Cod just under 7lb and a 2-3lb Cod on the bottom hook..."That lad know's were to find them". Anyway I guess you wanting to see a few pic's?? Well here goes. Jim lad with a fine Summer Coddy. Well done that man.. Not as big as Jim's but a fine fish all the same.. I even managed half s dozen Pollock with this being the best one.. Back to the Cod. Al (Big Cliff) is never far away from the fish... A few fish that couldn't be returned, so Cod for tea it is.. Part 2 to follow. Bye for now.. Gary.. Part 2.. A few Wrasse popped in to say hello. There was a golden Cod at the end of the Rainbow... This plump Wrasse was taken on a lure.. Fishing in shorts and T shirt.......Love it. Were there is Cliffs, you sure to find Big Cliff... :concern: Sky high Cod.. Back for more Cod capers in part 3... Cheers Gary.. Part 3. That's better back on solid ground.. I was getting dizzy up there... Oh no back on a Cliff again... The main bait we used was peeler crab.. Thats all folks...... Yibbida Yibbida. :glee: A big thank-you to Jimmy, Ron the Wrasse and Tricky... Tight-Lines. Gary.
