seeing a window for a quick couple of hrs out yesterday

we launched safely & were fishing for 06:30, deciding to not venture

too far as wind increase expected mid morning.

fished at a mark just off saltburn pier / rock edge fishing both bait n

lures, water clearer than expected. fresh talpies/mussel n squid bait used

by tubby, shads n hokkis by self, dozen kept 4-6lb range, mini mops galore

score 8-4 to lures on keepers.

algie apparent in pots as a local boat loaded with a fleet ready to come ashore

    covered with it.

none inside where we were. neither any mackerel or herring locally.

had to dash back in for 10:30, passing a couple of yakkers near marske high

any luck lads if your on forum post a report.

silent man was fishing near us but went to market @ 9:30 so, if anyone on slip

seeing what he was selling post his catch please. struggling but nice to get out.

You've done well for a quick trip out and just got a nice little weather window to do it in so to get a few fish was a real bonus with the weather about to turn

Even though theres plenty of slump in the water its still surprisingly clear so it'll be interesting to see how it goes after this bit of sea runs out

Nice to see the artificials and plastics outfishing the bait, always a good sign of better things on the way, did the better fish come to plastics or bait?

    plastics mainly Bri

thought talpies might produce for tubby but he was mainly

plagued with mini mops to squid/mussel,talpies coming back

untouched except for "sweetlips" caught on one.

clearness of water a bonus, your transom work you did for us

is A1 , no movement etc with following sea/ more movement

    20yd guarantee proven.

hope you bring some good weather soon.

Glad the transom work is doing its job and working for you, you must have got a good deal on the 20 yard guarantee, usually only comes with a ten yard one so I guess i slipped up that day

Hoping the weather breaks in time for the weekend , busting a gut to have another go, those summer cod have got to be coming in any day now, some of the potters are getting 3 or 4 stone of cod in their pots so they must be about, if that mucky water just clears I reckon we'll have a stormer

    bri,

that's why I thought talpies might produce but on positive side they

will be used down port/runswick next couple of days thats all this

weather is good for. as the season is getting later, might be a run of

the old "spring codling" we used to get march/ april time yonks ago.
