Down my way the cod start showing mid september from the Needles to Dover there is always a real chance of a lunker there are not many cod most ranging 3-7lb and a couple of fish would be a good day but one of those two or three fish could be massive theres been a couple of 30s out but 60 miles down the coast also today 6 miles down the coast from me at Dunginess a 12 year old girl caught a 28lber and an 18 on her dads boat.My bait was cuttle fish mainly because it can withstand the attack from the hoards of whiting that are around

nice one lozz! such a shame most of our cod get wiped out before they reach a decent, size, when i started fishing in 1969 you would expect one or two each year over 20lb [we will screw earth up first then move onto the other planets]
