Had a few hours last night just south of Scarborough

I was a bit disappointed when I saw the sea wasn't quite as big as I'd hoped and the colour was poor and almost clear:(

A few billet in the last dregs of daylight and then a propr thumping bite and a good tussle with a very fat fish that topped the scales at just over 7lb:)

No more action after that but a good way to start my winters fishing, as first time out since the festivals

Got a pic on phone but won't let me upload as file too large:(

    Thanks lads:)

I followed it up with a big fat blank last night though at a banker mark in the sky

Looks like its going to be a patchy season

Blank last night for me in scarboro, not really enough sea at 4.9m, weeded out in what water there was so sacked it off.

Nice one , I've not seen a 7lb + cod for a couple of years even out on the boat in the summer , . I don't really mind if it's a patchy season if I see one two of that stamp, it's been a while . I've fished Scarborough 3 times this season for half a dozen one to two pound identical mops so it's good to hear of a nice fish .
