OARFISH Washed Up On The North East Coast - RIBBON FISH

    Doesnt time fly. I remembered this and the picture of her in the paper with the rod. I thought at the time that there was no chance she hooked that fish. They must have found it on the shore and saw the opportunity to get in the papers so nipped home for the spinning rod.

    Can't believe they believed it was caught on a spinning rod, while printing next to it how they feed on tiny deep sea crustaceans

    Yes Glenn it was at Skinningrove , it was in the October and she said she thought she had a Mackerel on , what a load of Tosh , it must have been
    dead for 2 weeks before been WASHED UP on the beach

    Looks like something out of jungle hooks !!!,never seen out like it.
    Some body caught one on a spinning rod ???,yeh cause they did :surprise:it would of emptied your reel & snapped u off !!.

    Was just about to dust down me winter gear. Sod that im off spinning all winter for Oarfish. Saying that, the amount of peelers i have frozen down, I may have more chance of one than a Cod.

    Val Fletcher claimed that she thought it was just another mackerel (in January???) whilst spinning (for Cod???)and that she needed help from her partner Rob "Herrings".
    Don't think so!!!!
