I've had a couple of days up at the caravan, (Sunday night till today) and managed two short sessions. On Sunday night I had an 2 hour session into darkness, wasted my crab on poddlers but saw a nice sunset

Isn't This What It's All About

    Bait Robbers!!!

Monday was a nice day but I was out with Julie shopping so never had a chance to fish  , did check my pot though and ended up with this for our tea.

    A Nice lobster

I did make it out on Tuesday morning though and fished the last two hours of the ebb and first hour of the flood. The weather had turned for the worst and a stiff southerly wind made it less pleasant than the day before but I had a canny little session anyway.
My best fish was this nice red fish of 6lb 9oz, best cod of the summer so far for me also

A Nice Red Fish From The Thick Kelp

Fingers crossed for fine weather and flat seas for the bank holiday, I hope you liked my report fellas.

    Regards Ian

nice red cod Ian. Do you find that the red fish fight a lot better than tidal fish ?

Cheers Glenn, the red fish give you a good "tussle" but I think that a lot of it is due to the nature of the ground that you're trying to pull them through.......relatively shallow and thick with kelp.

I love the colour of the red cod though, when they're just out of the water some of them look like big goldfish

Hello Mike, cheers mate. Yeah I like the red cod but they do tend to be "wormier" than the fresh run fish. I just pick the worms out with the tip of my filleting knife. As you'll know you can see them easy enough especialy if you hold the fillet up to the light.

Anyway, eating a few wormy fillets has never done me no harm
