Mussels From Whitby Angling Supplies ??

    Does anyone ever use them ?? Looks like thy have been frozen in a bag of tap water so i didnt dare buy them. Wondering if people have used them and found them to be ok ?

    Im getting Lazy Mike, but I know how important quality is and I just couldnt risk those if theyve been in tap water. How much do you Pay there Perry ??

    Hi Glen,
    Don't know many suppliers, but Coso's mussels have always been absolutely spot on. Big, in their own juices and very often fresh.

    Hi glen i dont know if you know but soaking skaind mussels in fresh water for 24 hours will swell the meats up to approx 2 x their size long line fishermen used this method with great success but where always used fresh never frozen ;D

    Can second the comment on Coso's mussels, the skein them on site & I always get more fresh than I need and freeze some straight away

    Should of come n seen me glen id of sorted you some. Garn down hawsker today ill let you know how I get on. As for soaking them in water for 24 hrs don't think its a very good idea, ye it swells them up but you cant beat leavin them in their own juice.
