wow what a break sunday got to digs east muntloch superb 35 per night b and b brilliant rooms overlooking mog
they made us a coffee while we unpacked and got ready port giill the destination
only had frozen bait black lug squid and maccy
fished conger rod with maccy then float and spinner for pollack at end then worm/squid on bottom for wrasse
had 6lb conger numerous small 1 1/2 lb pollack no wrasse weather super light winds
tea at queens winter 5 pound menu quality home cooked food and couple of pints
monday after quality breccy off to crammock head new farmer there
same baits had a few goes for late fresh maccy but none had plenty of pollack to both float and spinner the bigger specimens to 31/2 pound on spinner
tea at queens again lot better than clash and more atmosphere
then bed ready for final day as no wind and sunshine again decided on ramseys thought couple of hours then home
we smashed pollack till hour after high biggest 5lb
seal took a few same as gare
back home for 9 brilliant break best for a few years

well in john, sound like a good break with fish to boot.i noticed a big differance up north last time i went, plenty of fish but a lot of hard work compared to seasons past.we done menai straits and it was exstatic fishing, bass to die for on poppers close in.we nipped onto anglesey and fished the river that runs through rhosneigr along the golf course,a old haunt of mine and we were catching mullet for fun on floating crust and a carp rod.did get a bitt frustrating at times mind, hair pulling, foul language, wanting to push your mate in but grt fun.

if you ever get the chance to fish that estuary/river give it a go john.really easy to find aswell once on anglesey.rhosneigr is well sign posted of the A55.once in rhosneigr,go through the village and head for the golf coarse(well signposted).we park on the road adjacent to the golf coarse and caravan park.you can fish from below the white bridge golf coarse, above that its brown trout fishing and none tidal.river rises quite high so be carefull.you can fish it all below here for a good mile and a half before it enters the sea.best bet is to head towards the air field, its were the red arrows used to be based and fish the black bridge were it crosses the river.its absolutely stuffed with fish on an upcoming tide.flatties in the droves too.
