Fished Brigg over low today to see if there were any straggling pollock.
Snagged two redtails, and the small tide prevented me from fishing along the front of the terraces, so clipped on a metal for a bit of distance off the front.
Blanked on pollock, but did get a mackerel.
Don't think I have ever had one in November, and chances are I won't do again for some time.
Anybody else had them from the shore this late?
Might be more common than I think, but I am usually on bait well before now.

Water still like a swimming pool.
Going to try and get up early for a last bass session to high.
    Ben

still a few coming in from boats up sunderland way i believe, and i think i read jc had mackerel from saltburn pier last week ? - also heard reports of lads mackie bashing from east pier scarborough late last week.
I had a read up on it and discovered its not unusual to catch mackerel to end of october, suppose everyone used to targeting them aug to peak sept and not bothering or expecting them to be around at this time ?
clear water and flat ish conditions help as you say
On the other hand the earliest i caught was april 21 2013 from m drive scarboro

I've had mackerel from Bridlington harbour wall in October! Not on lures but on pieces of mackerel on the deck.
