Kayak Fishing This Winter - Flamborough/Runswick

    hi folks,anyone out in their yaks at flamborough or runswick before christmas. I'd love a run up north. HJ.

    its too cold for me HJ, i prefer yakking in nice summer evenings, lets hope we get some in 2009!

    If the weathers decent I might try and get out between Xmas and New Year to test out a drysuit which Santas got lined up for me and to shakedown my new yak which hasn't seen the water yet.

    Whats your 1st impressions of the suit matty?, still can't decide on that one or the Typhoon :confused:

    Well Ive never had a drysuit before mate but first impressions are very good. The zip is a bit stiff but you'd expect that at first anyway. material quality seems very good and the best thing is it fits me! I'm glad I got the one with neoprene glideskin neck and wrist seals as they are so much more comfortable than latex.

    looks good - no bright colours - and I will now be able to battle Buzz Lightyear for domination of outer space :laugh:

    the underfleece is very warm but our lass reckons its just a mans babygrow :baby:

    Next purchase is going to be some of these I think..

    sounds like my crewsaver hyperdry,my lass says i look like captain scarlet.For the stiff zip,try some
    silicone spray lube the same stuff as they use on welly zips,barbour do one.

    First chance of the right conditions and off shift and i will be off Flamborough in the yak, always better to be out in numbers so keep in touch - im only a couple of miles away from Nth Landing so can check conditions if theres any doubt :)
