A big thanks for sharing your adventures with us all here on the forum ,
how the hell do you get them skate out on beach rods i would think they would just lay there ,take your your bait and then say ---k you i,m not moving,
it,s amazing you managed to get them out or off the bottom ,200lb is mental.
that cod ,what a colour,i have seen plenty of red cod but they are brilliant.
would love a trip up there but think the climbing would be beyond me ,no not think i know, just wish this fishing was known about when i could have managed it,it was there all along just no internet to let us know it was.
thanks again lads ,great to read about your trip and look forward to week 2.

    frank.

Re: Isles Of Skye Sea Fishing - Return Of The Whitby Bass Club - Week One

Following on from Dans 45lb shore tope last year this surely puts him up there with the very best anglers in our area. Perhaps not on the cod fishing front, but in terms of being able to target different species and pull out the big fish, this lad certainly is up there with the best of them. Side by side with Paul Lobley, Daniel showed him how to target species time after time this past week, infact on several occasions, Dans knowledge made Lobbers look like a dangler like the rest of us.

Whats also nice to see is how relaxed Dan is about the whole thing. Never seeking priase, always humble and never arrogant about his achievements. A true gent in all ways and a great example of The Bass Club Ethos. His acheievement was shared amongst the group and at times its felt like all of us had a hand in the capture of this awesome fish. We could well have walked away from this venue after our first and second attempts but myself and Dan spoke several times and we just knew it had the potential to throw out a biggy, which it clearly did, TWICE !!!.
