Cheese is very similar to crab cart in that it makes a great back up bait if you cant get the real thing. I had many a success last year using milk but i found it hard to keep on the hook, has anyone found a good way to keep it on as finger mesh is too expensive and i have an allergy to cling film

All wrong, Dairylea fish crab cart style is the best method. Had my first 20lb bag of Codling on that, fish with Jacobs crackers when the fishing is difficult

Yes cheese, ham, pickle, all these make good sandwich fillings for your bait.
    Cheers Col.

you,ll get plenty of bites of the rats that are down there ,try it with bread and you can make sandwiches if nothing biting,
