Fossil?

    Big lump of flint, so not a fossil. Although occasionaly the flint is in fact an entire fossil sponge.

    It will have come originally from the chalk of the Wolds/Flamborough.

    Hi Brigg Boy just saw your pic, might be a fossil, possible large sponge? Hard to tell without seeing it close up! I'm guessing it was Flamborough/Bempton way? If sponge is a possible....

    yeah the photo was taken at the foot of the donkey path down bemton(near red cliff),think it may have been covered over now as I took it a while ago ,it was about 2 foot across
