Bigger tides & clearer water bringing better results.

Marks fished at 100 ft depth very clear, @ ,20 mops returned, 10 keepers to 6lb.

Tried close in, edging through to 50 ft, nowt but fish showing ,slightly algie coloured

Back out again deeper, straight into fish, non to bait all on shads & hokkis.

Will be trying in our boat in morning, hoping inside continuous to get Alfie free to

    Get some Pollock.

We got away safely & running up the suns glorious path out to

Our first mark, water looking a bit thicker/greenish, steady drift, straight up/down a bonus

    For big tides.

Six keepers n mops galore first drift.run back up but mops only, double shots making you

    Think a decent one on.

Plenty of gulls working now,1st few gannets arriving another good sign.

    Kept 40, best @6 lb.

Catch rates 50_50 bait v shads, changed to hokkis due to mops ruining shads

Continued to get sport on same.

Few out, passed Sib on way in may be Zetland?

If so another report imminent I hope.

No marks outstanding, long drtifts & the fishing is easy.

Not me, I was out on a bigger boat today watching Fisheries protection in action.

A nice morning, but fishing was very patchy.

Your right, lovely morning, guardian looking for mop murderers,

Down cattersea earlier, boarded a couple.

No need to worry if you can measure & add couple of inches to limit, then look at fillet before

Taking ,personally they are a bit "thin" after late spawn? Hence consider fillet size

No probs with today's kept sample

Just got back from fishing "mistress" with Rich Cope.
Fished north of whitby, various marks, some did better than others. some fish to shads but baited orange hokkiais were doing the biz more than anything else, lots of bleggs. spotted the Fisheries boat as well. we did have a planned late start ( 9:30) Wasn't a hectic day by any means but I took home 6.
