Due to sea dropping fast & keeping away from obvious crowded venues, Managed a couple of hrs this morning on beach at st Germain's to horse path (A nice deep feature developed recently). First two casts resulted in big whiting @ 1lb, ruining bait intended for cod. Next two casts, a couple of decent 4lb cod, nice fresh run fish. Whiting a plenty for next hr or so,taking big baits, no more cod or decent knocks. Pier looked busy with illuminations a plenty. Good Big razor, mussel n lug cocktails used,no weed, gentle undertow nice conditions Fog n frost went after midnight, two cod kept had roe in,early spawn? Or warmer Conditions changing spawning pattern? Used to be February, col d sea , For spawning. After these strong land winds, hope colour stays for next weeks rough up.
