Should have listened to the lads who know, all the good advice fell on deaf ears. My Hummingbird has died and needs to be sent back. In the meantime I,m looking for another, probably Lowrance or Garmin. Nothing too big but decent quality, and I promise to listen this time if there,s any recomendations.

    told ya ;D

anything from lowrance or garmin mate...lowrance have a better warranty and a few more pixals per pound..
also "eagle" are the same company as lowrance, and are somtimes a bit cheaper..
if you want a really good unit look up the raymarine sets..ray..a bit pricey but top notch gear...

Hi Ray, I m really happy with my Lowrance m52 sounder/gps combo.Good clear signal......only thing with it is when ever i get near Iains yak the signal from mine causes his to stop working lol........only way I can get the fish ;D.

I ordered mine from the above and it took 3 days from order to recept.I originally ordered the same from Marine Electronics Services, they took payment and then said they couldn t get the unit and had no delivery estimate,so I cancelled the order, not impressed with them.

    Cheers Dave.

What do you think of the Lowrance X50DS from the same site?
  12. steerser

    steerser Blenny

i would say reading the specs that they are about the same, the lowrance is dual frequency which for me isn't worth the extra money...we had an expensive koden D/f set in our last boat and hardly ever used it..

Just thought it might be better as I mainly fish in shallow water ??? but I,m hearing what you,re saying this time ;D
  14. steerser

    steerser Blenny

dual freqency is basically split screen, same picture either side, one with a bit more detail than the other...can''t see the point in shallow water,,,just use ya zoom ;)
