    Just put kettle on

Early rise, launching pre dawn for sunrise session hard in under huntcliffe.

Fresh talpies & shads for cod n Pollock.

Big tides so hoping the cod inside & Pollock above kelp.

Report later of how we get on

Just finished filleting & flushing engine etc.

    5 cod kept 5lb ish.

Plenty mackerel about after recent rough up.

No Pollock 1st thing no takers on shads.

Couple cod taken on talpies but mop frenzy on bait(looks good for beach sport)

Changed to shads took better cod.

Gurnard took on daylights when getting mackerel for pots.

Wind n tide together on ebb no drogue used due to mops feeding as soon as you hit bottom

Decent settled spell on slack tides needed .

Only fished 30/40 ft depth, may be better further out.

If I was building a boat out of ply, it would be more water tight than your tin bath, have you sorted that leak yet?:D Don't know about next week, forecast's not looking that great.:(

On a trip to Lanzarote I was served 'fish of the day' which turned out to be a wrasse, simply grilled and it was fine eating. If I was lucky enough to catch one and it was badly hooked I would certainly take it.

I will certainly have a go if any more pop up and are of decent size, thanks for the feedback

Wind eased window for a couple of hours this morning.

Kettle on for flask will be missing slack water so should fish flood tide.

Shads v bait today, few Spur dogs taken in nets by commercial boat recently

Trying rock edges pier to cattersey.

    Give update later.

Plenty of mops for action all morning, became a nuisance bait changed to daylights, changed to bigger shad

Kept a couple to 6lb taken on bigger shad ,problem of mops lessened..

Wind kept us inside daylights taking both mops n mackerel.

2 boxes of jumbo mackerel for pot bait kept ,water clarity good.

Mackerel still about but bigger, inside marks full of mops, need settled spell to try deeper for better sample

    Of cod.

    Enjoy your trip

You should be able to catch fresh mackerel up there.

Regarding local chances of them, gulls still working behind break

Last year we had them till Nov 23rd then they migrated.
