    Hello Fishing Folk,

Kicked myself up the backside and pushed myself out into the cold in search of a few fish.. Met up with Lee Brockbank and after a quick chat about were to fish we headed off to our chosen mark near Skinningrove..

Well to cut a long story short we had a few fish, not the biggest I have ever caught but a very welcome fish, we both caught our biggest fish of this season, mine at 9lb 4oz and Lee's at 7lb 10oz..

Heard on the grapevine there was a few good fish caught at other spots too including a nice fish over 10lb off Whitby west for Russel Miller..

Lets hope we all catch a few more in 2014.

Good luck and happy fishing to you all...

It was good to find some fish and as always a pleasure fishing with Gary plenty of laughs. Really enjoyed our little session with loads of finicky bites but managed to get a couple to have a good go. New mark, new year. Hopefully plenty more fish to come for everyone who makes the effort to get out, in this weather, needs to be rewarded.

    Cheers lads

    Tight lines
    Lee

Well done boys, top fishing there as usual. Sure your both gonna click a double before April. Out of interest, what sort of baits are we using this time of year. Still crab or have things switched to worms.

I was using worm Glenn, I do like good fresh worm this time of year, sometimes I like to use worm and razorfish..

A conversation I was having with Faron yesterday, he had been on Staithes cliffs in near perfect conditions and blanked. He used Crab and frozen worm and I was trying to tell him how deadly fresh worm can be now. It can make all the difference.

Thanks for sharing mate Im sure others will really appreciate such an essential tip.

All fish I have had in the last 3 weeks have been on fresh blacks or frozen blacks and blow lug. Frozen peeler zilch, not even a bite. Is about 15 nil to the worms.
