Just bought myself an Affinity 8000; was recommended to put 50llb on [plus a few winds of mono at the start as it wouldnt waste braid] managed to get a good bit of distance with that weight line and the reel took all the braid. Know you werent asking about wasteage of line....but its worth thinking about.

Heard of heavy gear but bloody ell,665lb, hardcore  ;D
Would of thought 50lb/60lb with a leader, sum lads use a 100lb braided leader, some prefer 30lb/40lb with a mono leader.Good luck with it all fellah.

After watching rich use 60 and lose one rig in the rough ground where as I used mono and lost a rig a cast. Would go for 60 which is what I have put on my penn battle

50 or 60lb straight through, dont see the point in having a leader tbh

A nylon leader of 20' or so would be better for abrasion resistance as any braid under pressure is susceptable to breakage against sharp objects and it would not affect the performance of the cast either.
