I'm due to retire in couple of months, and want to do some wild life photography,...I know its a bit of a long shot but what sort of camera would I require I'm not very clued up but i'll have plenty of time to learn ;D...I've set myself a budget of £500 max so any suggestions would really be appreciated...cheers mick.

With a £500 budget I would look at the 2nd hand used market.
There are plenty of good bargains to be had.
For wildlife photography a telephoto lens is the main target.
This will give you close up shots, without the need to get close to the subject.
    I hope this helps.

Any camera maker will be ok.
Nikon and Canon have the best lens range to choose from.
As long as you have deep pockets.

most of my wildlife shots are done with a Canon 7D and a sigma 150-500,
even second hand you would be looking to pay £1000 for the pair ,

i would look at a 60D and a good second hand long lens ,WEX Photographic is a good place to search they have some bargains , i got a great 70-200 2.8 L is, for £900 .

here is a cople of photo,s i have taken recently with my 150-500
