Managed to get away easy this morning,

Was going to fish with mate out of saltburn, but more slap on, managed from penny hole

But was 2 hrs later than us.

Had to go further out, 100ft depth before the "soup" cleared.

Nowt special, few to 6lb kept, box of mackerel for pot bait

Cat trio the turd came on our drift,so we left them macky bashing.

Next couple of days should hopefully clear a bit.

    Shads,daylights used.

Much the same as yesterday for me, though launch and retrieve where easier,:) and the fish didn't feed as well on the flood either. Best fish was about 4lb.

Having a easy day tomorrow ,

    No tiller/skipper/fish finding duties,just turn up,hop aboard ,& soak

Up the sun for run out from saltburn.

Will be trying new ground, fingers XED.

    Certainly was,

Expected to lift/burn off by 7,did it hell but didn't effect fishing only

    When the easterly started.

Prior to this better fish, couple of near doubles(both 9 1/2 lb)

Clearer water, was nice drift ,steady takes until easterly started,

Just like a switch flicked on the fish went.

Nice to edge in on GPS to locate way point & beach, still thick fog inland.

Forgot to mention passed 3 kayakers in thick fog,

Must be very eerie, scary when potters about in poor visibility.

I'm at the Isle of Whithorn SW Scotland, been here since Friday out in the boat everyday no wind sea like glass sun beating down in fact you get a sweat on just holding the rod!:) Had about 17 or 18 spieces so far. I'll post something when I get back.

One of our favorite places, good food and beer in the Steam Packet. :) Probably have a day or two there in August, do you launch in the Harbour?

I'm lucy enough to have a mate with a house opposite the old Queens pub & a boat in the harbour. I have towed mine up a few times in the past and prefer to use the slip in the harbour as the other is a bit tight on space plus the algae at the bottom can be quite slippy at times. I know a lad that tried to winch his boat onto the trailer on that slip, what he didn't realise until to late as he winched the trailer slid under the boat rather than the boat coming on to the trailer. By the time he realised the car had water up to the radio on the centre consol and some explaining to do to the missus.
