Pollachius virens = Billet, Pennock
Coley, Coalfish, Saithe.
Some people call small Pollock. Pennock and Billet.
Seems quite a lot of names for one fish dont it? Are there anymore names for them?
B*****d is one that springs to mind when the measure 34cm on a club night .
Isnt it strange just how many are 34cm Ive had to measure lots of them and they are "just under"
I put a tiny hook on the other day and dropped down the side of Skinningrove jetty I caught around 50 billet in an hour 2 young lads had fresh water hooks on and maggots they caught hundreds of billet
All very small tho only around 4-5 inches
Separate names with a comma.
