Thank still buzzing, managed one of my ambitions in fishing today catching a double in daylight. A strange day really up at 4 this morning with ice glittering like diamonds on the road as far as Middlesboro.

Decided to fish Bulmer / Seaton point area, parking at Bulmer then walking to Seaton Along walk by even my standards. A mop 1st cast made it seem worthwhile but no more bites meant it was time for a change at low water.

Decided to move to Howick as little walking required and hopefully some tide for the last hour of the Match.

With half an hour to go my line went slack making me pick up not really knowing what was on.

The rod then pulled over slowly but strongly giving me a good chance of setting the hook. I then kept reasonable force on the line winding being stopped a few times by heavy thumping by the fish.

The critical moment was now reached with the fish in the edge. One wave brought it onto the scar but still in the wash.

the next allowed me to bring it further then a quick dash down and it was in my hands, greeted by a cheer from some anglers about 30 yards away.

One more cast but no more and then to the weigh in.

Thanks for the comments. Have fished the Amble Open a number of times and cant remember catching a fish in it that definately changed this year. Looking forward to the Bell trophy, one of my favourite matches. Think we need a bit of sea on the day the way the fishing has been recently. Its about time South Cliff won it lacking numbers though which does not help.
